Rose Hip

โรสฮิปเป็นยาสมุนไพรที่มีคุณสมบัติต้านการอักเสบ สามารถใช้ได้ในรูปแบบแคปซูล หลักฐานที่แสดงให้เห็นว่าโรสฮิปที่อาจจะมีประสิทธิภาพในการบรรเทาอาการบางอย่างที่เกี่ยวข้องกับโรคไขข้ออักเสบและโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อม

สารสกัดจากโรสฮิปที่มีโพลีฟีนและ anthocyanins ซึ่งเชื่อว่าจะบรรเทาการอักเสบร่วมกัน นอกจากนี้ยังอุดมไปด้วยวิตามินซีที่มีคุณสมบัติต้านอนุมูลอิสระ สารต้านอนุมูลอิสระเป็นสารที่สามารถแทนที่โมเลกุลที่เป็นอันตราย (อนุมูลอิสระ) ซึ่งมีการผลิตภายในเซลล์ และอาจทำให้เกิดความเสียหายของเนื้อเยื่อ การศึกษาอื่น ๆ ได้พบว่าสามารถลดการผลิตเอนไซม์เฉพาะที่ทำลายกระดูกอ่อน

จากการทดลองใน ผู้ที่มีโรคข้ออักเสบรูมาตอย 89 คนจากการสุ่ม ใช้ปริมาณ  ผงโรสฮิป5 กรัมกับผงยาหลอกวันละครั้งเป็นเวลาหกเดือน
ผู้ที่ได้รับโรสฮิป มีอาการดีขึ้นมาก สามารถเคลื่อนไหวและทำงานได้ คุณภาพของชีวิตทางกายภาพดีกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับยาหลอกมีเพียงรายเดียวที่พัฒนา vasculities แต่ไม่ชัดเจนนัก


ดังนั้นการใช้ฮิบโรสเป็นอาหารเสริมจึงปลอดภัยพอสมควร แต่ผลข้างเคียงอื่นๆยังไม่ได้รับการยืนยัน
