  Hyaluronan กำลังได้รับความนิยมในการวิจัยวิศวกรรมเนื้อเยื่อ. [76] [77] โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งจำนวนของกลุ่มวิจัยได้พบคุณสมบัติ Hyaluronan สำหรับวิศวกรรมเนื้อเยื่อ ,

[8] อาการผิวหนังแห้งเป็นสะเก็ด (xerosis) เช่นที่เกิดจากโรคผิวหนังภูมิแพ้ (กลาก) อาจจะรักษาด้ด้วยโลชั่นบำรุงผิวที่มีส่วนผสมของยาโซเดียม Hyaluronate  ช้รักษามะเร็งต่อมลูกหมากและมะเร็งเต้านม  ใช้หลังผ่าตัดพื่อการรักษาเนื้อเยื่อโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งหลังการผ่าตัดต้อกระจก. [12]  รักษาแผล ควบคุมเม็ดเลือดขาวให้เกิดภูมิคุ้มกัน ใช้ฉีดเพื่อรักษาริ้วรอยเหี่ยวย่น แต่มีผลคือรอยพกช้ำ และมีการปรับปรุงเทคนิคดังกล่าวให้เกิดรอยพกช้ำน้อยลงได้
ในปี 2007 ได้รับการรับรองให้เป็นยารักษาโรคเข่าข้อเสื่อม
